Maddy | West Linn Class of 2018 Beach Photo Session

When Maddy told me she was all about hiking, life outdoors and a future in environmental studies, I had to see if she was open to a beach session.  I’m so thrilled that she was, so we arranged to meet out by our family beach house in Netarts, Oregon for her senior session last summer to create a series of truly magical shots. We started at Cape Meares lighthouse, and took advantage of the mystical fog that rolled to capture beautifully coastal, moody photos.  After her casual look, she slipped into this almost Edwardian-looking dress, and all I kept seeing in my mind were scenes from “Jane Eyre” and “Sense and Sensibility.”  I think her wind-whipped hair and the grey skies were just completed the effect.  Of course, the shoot wouldn’t have been complete without scaling a high dune to get shots with a view, which tested my stamina, and showed me just how amazingly athletic this beauty is as well.   I’m so excited for this fun and fabulous  young woman who I have had the pleasure of knowing since she was in first grade! (WOW!)  Sending huge hugs for your adventure next year, Maddy!  University of Montana is lucky to have you! XOXO
